Pre-Emergent Weed Control
Stop crabgrass, sandbur, and winter weeds before they ever sprout. Correctly timed spring and fall barrier applications are the backbone of a weed-free lawn.
Kingsland, TX • Serving the Highland Lakes
Pre-emergent, fertilization, and disease control programs built by an owner with years of golf course superintendent experience — TDA-licensed and locally owned.
Texas Turf Pros is a locally owned weed control and fertilization company serving Kingsland and the surrounding area.
The owner spent years as a golf course superintendent, responsible for acres of turf where every weed, dry spot, and disease outbreak was on display. That agronomy background — soil testing, product selection, application timing — is exactly what we bring to your lawn. We don’t mow, and we don’t guess: we build and run treatment programs that make lawns thick, green, and weed-free.
Pre-emergent, post-emergent, fertilization, and disease control — the same agronomy that keeps fairways flawless, applied to your lawn.
Stop crabgrass, sandbur, and winter weeds before they ever sprout. Correctly timed spring and fall barrier applications are the backbone of a weed-free lawn.
Dandelions, clover, dollarweed, nutsedge — targeted herbicide applications that kill the weeds you can see without harming your turf.
Season-long feeding matched to your grass type and soil test — not a one-size-fits-all bag. Thicker, greener turf that crowds weeds out naturally.
Golf-course-grade agronomy for your yard. We test pH and nutrients, then build your fertilization program from real data instead of guesswork.
Brown patch, take-all root rot, gray leaf spot — we diagnose turf disease correctly and treat it with the right fungicide at the right time.
Grubs, chinch bugs, armyworms, and Texas fire ants. Season-long control that protects your lawn — and your bare feet.
From the first call to final walk-through.
We walk your property, identify your grass type, the weeds you’re fighting, and any disease or insect pressure — then quote you a flat program price.
Your lawn gets a written annual plan: pre-emergent timing, fertilization rates matched to your soil and turf, and targeted controls — the same way a superintendent plans a season.
We show up on schedule through the year, apply the right product at the right rate, and leave a service note so you always know what went down and why.
Texas weather doesn’t read calendars. We watch conditions between visits and adjust the program when drought, disease, or weed breakthroughs demand it.

Pricing is based on your treated lawn area, not a flat national rate. Most residential programs run 7–8 visits per year at a predictable per-application price we quote after a free lawn analysis. No contracts that trap you — the program earns its keep by how the lawn looks.
Twice a year, and timing is everything. The spring barrier goes down in late winter (roughly February to early March) before soil temperatures hit 55°F and crabgrass germinates; the fall barrier goes down in September–October to stop winter weeds like poa annua and henbit. Miss the window and you fight weeds all year — which is why we schedule by soil temperature, not by the calendar.
We are TDA-licensed applicators and follow every product label exactly — that’s the law and the standard. For most applications, kids and pets simply need to stay off the lawn until it’s dry, typically a couple of hours. You get a service note after every visit telling you exactly what was applied and any re-entry guidance.
Bermuda, St. Augustine, and Zoysia make up nearly every lawn in the Highland Lakes, and each one needs different products, rates, and timing — a herbicide that’s safe on Bermuda can injure St. Augustine. Every program we build starts with correctly identifying your turf.
Mowing crews cut grass; we practice agronomy. Weed control and fertilization is all we do, and the owner ran golf course turf professionally — greens, fairways, and tees where there is nowhere for a mistake to hide. Your lawn gets diagnosed and treated by a licensed applicator, not sprayed from a jug between mowings.
Visible broadleaf weeds start curling within days of a post-emergent treatment and are typically gone in 2–3 weeks. Fertilization response shows in 1–2 weeks during the growing season. A thin, weedy lawn usually looks dramatically better within one season and reaches its stride in the second year of a full program.
No. As long as we can access the lawn and gates are unlocked, we treat on schedule and leave a service note at the door with what was applied and any watering or re-entry instructions. You’ll always know we were there and what we did.
Yes. Texas Turf Pros is a TDA-licensed commercial pesticide applicator — the Texas Department of Agriculture license required to apply regulated herbicides and pesticides to lawns for hire. Every product is applied per its label by the licensed owner, not an unlicensed crew.
